Texas-born. Soft-hearted. Protective by nature. Looking for a steady hand and a quieter life.

Breed: Mixed
Age: 5 (approximate)

I’m a Southern girl with a bit of mystery in the mix — likely Lab, Retriever, Husky, and just enough independent streak to keep things interesting. I’m about 70 lbs, built like a proper outdoor companion, and I’ve been told I clean up very well.

A little about me: I’m originally from rural Texas, where I was found hungry, abandoned, and trying to keep myself and my last surviving puppy alive. It was not my best season. Some kind people stepped in, helped me get healthy, and eventually brought me to Canada for a fresh start. My puppy found a home. I’m still waiting on mine.

These days I’m healthy, safe, and living in the Cowichan Valley while I wait for the right person to come along.

I’m affectionate, loyal, and deeply devoted to my people. I’m the kind of dog who bonds hard and means it. I’m quiet in the house, rarely bark except to alert to a potential danger, and prefer keeping close to my family over causing a scene. Around visitors, I can be a little reserved at first, but I warm up with a bit of time and clear energy.

I’m smart, loving, and eager to please — but I do best with someone firm, kind, and consistent. If you’re clear, fair, and know how to lead, I settle beautifully.

I take my job of “looking after my people” seriously, which means I can get worked up around other dogs if I think I need to step in and manage the situation myself. I’m doing much better with training, but I still need someone calm, experienced, and steady enough to remind me that security is not my department.

My ideal match:
A calm, dog-savvy man or couple (40+) with a quieter lifestyle, a rural property, and solid boundaries. Someone who wants a loyal companion, not a social butterfly. Bonus points if you enjoy slow mornings, time outside, and a dog who takes her job of loving you very seriously.

My non-negotiables:

  • Rural or quiet home with a secure fenced yard
  • No other pets preferred
  • No dog parks, no chaos
  • Firm but confident and balanced leadership
  • Someone patient enough to keep building my confidence

I walk well on leash, unless another dog gives me a reason to have opinions. I’m affectionate, loyal, a little watchful, and very worth the effort.

I’ve already survived the hard part.
Now I’m just looking for someone solid to come home to.
